01

The challenge

An author site that read like a sales funnel, for readers who are not in a buying mood — they are in a private one.

02

What we did

A reading experience: warm paper, Fraunces at a size that slows you down, one accent, and every page built to be arrived at from a search rather than a homepage.

01

Lead with the book, not the pitch

The homepage opens on the current title and nothing else — cover, one line, two buttons. No hero carousel, no value proposition stack, no scrolling marquee of logos.

The typographic decision does most of the work. Fraunces at display size with real letter-spacing reads as a book jacket rather than a landing page, which is the promise the rest of the site then has to keep.

02

Give the ideas away first

Under the fold, four ideas from the books sit in tinted cards — readable in about fifteen seconds each, and free. Nothing is gated.

It is the same argument the books make: help first, ask later. The tints come straight from the palette rather than from a component library, so the section reads as part of the brand instead of a bolted-on blog teaser.

03

Put the person on the page

A coach is bought on trust, so the author section is not a bio block — it is a portrait, a signature, and a reader's own words underneath.

The speaking photography carries the rest. Real rooms, real audiences, no stock, which matters more for this category than any amount of testimonial styling.

04

Four books, four product pages

Each title gets a proper product page rather than a shared template with the cover swapped — its own body copy, its own schema, its own route to Amazon.

They run on a separate stylesheet from the rest of the site so a book page loads only what a book page needs, and so the retail layout can diverge from the editorial one without a fight.

05

The podcast, the quiz, and where the leads go

The podcast page lists episodes with the platforms people actually use, and the quiz recommends a title then emails the reader their result.

Neither runs on a form plugin. Both post to custom REST endpoints that write to the site's own tables and mail the studio and the reader separately — so the list is his, exportable, and does not expire with a subscription.
